McLoughlin helps flying school takeoff

McLoughlin Planning’s specialist knowledge of the aviation sector played a key role in securing permission for the relocation of a flying school.

Skyborne will now be able to run training flights from Gloucestershire Airport after gaining a certificate of lawful use.

The certificate was awarded by Tewkesbury Borough Council’s planning office and enables the company to begin using a hangar at the Staverton site.

McLoughlin Planning Managing Director Nathan McLoughlin said: “This is a really satisfying result and, although it’s something a bit different to our usual consultancy, it comes from our strong links with the airport.

“Skyborne can only be certified to train from certain locations and we were pleased to help them get permission to run their business from an appropriate hangar.

“The speed of the response we received shows the council’s commitment to the airport, which provides important manufacturing and engineering jobs for the region.”
