Quarry success will fuel growth
McLoughlin Planning has secured planning permission for a new Biomass facility at Westington Quarry.
Acting on behalf of Campden House Estate and SDL Biomass, the consultancy overcame challenges including noise, emissions and transport movements to deliver a successful result with the waste planning authority.
The site, which lies on the outskirts of Chipping Campden, will generate significant quantities of fuel to help meet the country’s energy needs.
Managing Director Nathan McLoughlin said: “This was a complex project which saw a site with a chequered planning history being positively reused for a biomass processing facility, generating 130,000 tonnes of biomass for the commercial and domestic markets.”
The project involved substantial negotiation with council officers, with many and environmental and technical matters requiring resolution prior to approval.
