Brockworth brownfield site to be transformed by ambitious scheme

The final part of Brockworth District Centre is almost ready for construction after McLoughlin Planning secured permission for an ambitious new scheme featuring affordable housing and hi-tech facilities.

Tewkesbury Borough Council has granted Edenstone Homes permission for 166 much-needed new homes alongside 163 square metres for commercial or community buildings.

The unattractive brownfield site will be transformed by landscaped avenues and open spaces including fitness equipment and a play area.

An innovative design enables natural surveillance and CCTV, with WiFi hotspots and electric car charging points providing other modern touches.

McLoughlin Planning Managing Director Nathan McLoughlin said: “This exciting scheme represents the culmination of months of collaborative working with both Tewkesbury Borough Council and the County Council and it was positively received by the local Parish Councils too.

“This collaborative working has also ensured that the application will be delivered in a timely manner, helped in part by entering into a Planning Performance Agreement with the Council.”
