We were established in 2009 by our Managing Director Nathan McLoughlin, whose ambition was to provide a high-quality service, focusing on the needs of clients to get results.
In the past seventeen years we have worked on a broad range of more than 800 projects, from grand designs and schools to industrial regeneration schemes and strategic housing.
In 2013 we moved to an office in Gloucester, during 2018 we opened new offices in Cheltenham to enable further business expansion and in 2020 we launched our first regional office in Wetherby, North Yorkshire and now have a second regional office in London.
In 2024, McLoughlin Planning acquired Plainview Planning, a forward-thinking consultancy working across England. This milestone marked the creation of the McLoughlin Planning Group — bringing together two specialist planning consultancies under one umbrella.
The Group structure allows us to offer a broader range of planning expertise, wider geographic reach, and the same trusted, hands-on advice our clients value.
McLoughlin Planning continues to provide expert planning consultancy to landowners, housing and commercial developers, strategic land promoters, and specialist infrastructure advice, including the aviation sector. Plainview Planning focuses on householders, small-scale landowners, bespoke commercial schemes and residential developments of up to 10 units.
This structure reflects our belief that town planning is never a one-size-fits-all service.
